About Us

My name is Deb Wicks

My husband (Dave) and I live on a small farm of 22 acres with four horses and 7 dogs. I was born in Pennsylvania.

My husband and I lived in Idaho, Washington and Alaska. Now that we are back in PA to stay, I am living out my dream.

I’ve always dreamed of breeding dogs, but I never imagined my heart would land on Bernedoodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs! Once I met these incredible breeds, I fell completely in love. Bernedoodles bring the perfect blend of intelligence, affection, and low-to-non-shedding coats, while Bernese Mountain Dogs offer that classic gentle-giant sweetness, loyalty, and steady, loving temperament.

I knew right away that I wanted others to experience the joy and companionship these breeds bring to a family. And so began my journey: researching, learning, health testing, and building a responsible breeding program focused on raising happy, healthy puppies with exceptional temperaments and a wonderful start to life.

Our Breeding & Puppy Development Program

At Wicks Bernedoodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs, our goal is to raise confident, well-adjusted family companions through purposeful early development and socialization.

From birth, our puppies participate in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) exercises, which are designed to support resilience, confidence, and adaptability. As they grow, we incorporate principles from the Puppy Culture program along with our own hands-on enrichment techniques developed through years of experience raising family companions.

Puppies are raised in our home and receive daily age-appropriate enrichment activities. They are introduced to a variety of sights, sounds, surfaces, toys, and experiences to help prepare them for life in their forever homes. Weather permitting, puppies enjoy supervised outdoor exploration in addition to indoor activities that encourage curiosity and confidence.

Socialization is one of the most important aspects of our program. We focus on positive interactions with people, littermates, and new environments to help puppies develop into friendly, adaptable companions. Our goal is for each puppy to leave our home with a strong foundation for training, family life, and future success.

We are committed to raising exceptional puppies with sound temperaments, excellent health, and the confidence to thrive as beloved members of their families.

Our philosophy is simple: every experience matters. From the day they are born until the day they join their forever families, we strive to provide each puppy with a strong foundation of confidence, curiosity, and trust.

Different Types Of Bernedoodle

What is an F1 Bernedoodle

F1 – is a first generation cross, the pup is 50% Bernese Mountain Dog and 50% Poodle. It is considered the healthiest. The parents have the least likelihood of contributing genes for common inheritable diseases.

What is an F1B Bernedoodle?

F1b – is a backcross in which a Bernedoodle is bred with a Poodle or a Bernese Mountain Dog.

What is an F2 Bernedoodle and how is it different from an F1?

F2 - is a second-generation cross, an F1 Bernedoodle is crossed with another F1 Bernedoodle.
